‘ENTCON- 2009’ from tomorrow

CHENNAI: A two-day national conference on Otorhinolaryngology (diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, head and neck disorders) will be held at the Global hospitals in Perumbakkam near Medavakkam from Saturday.
Talking to reporters about the programme, K.Ravindranath, chairman and managing director of the hospital said that the conference titled ‘ENTCON – 2009’ will have scientific sessions, panel discussions and live surgery demonstrations.
K.Krishna Kumar, head of the Institute of ENT, head and neck surgery, said an Institute of Otorhinolaryngology would be inaugurated at the hospital. The ENT department of the hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art equipmentsuch as video laryngoscopy, nasal endoscopy with advanced recording software, advanced microscope, endoscopy, hi-tech video stroboscopy, audiology and voice clinic setup.
Apart from the routine surgeries, the Institute would perform microear, micolaryngeal, endoscopic and laser surgeries, he added.
