Family and friends of deceased protest

NEW DELHI: Family and friends of a young man, who died after allegedly jumping off from the third floor of a court in Chandigarh, on Thursday staged a protest with his body in the national capital alleging that he was beaten to death. Police used force to disperse the crowd which stage protest in front of the Special Staff office in Madangir in south Delhi.

Body kept on road

Family members of the deceased, Raja, kept his body on the road in Madangir and shouted slogans against Delhi Police, demanding action against those responsible for his death.

Raja’s wife Santosh alleged that he was arrested by police personnel of south-east Delhi along with his nephew Sunny (20) for allegedly stealing Rs five lakh after breaking into a car in Sector-17 Chandigarh. -PTI
