City in mourning

The untimely demise of pop king Michael Jackson has literally tugged at the heartstrings as the city woke up to the news of his death on Friday morning with dismay. Though news poured in through cellphones and text messages , it was only after watching the news on the TV that people were able to come to terms with his sudden death. The response to his death was so overwhelming that even those who had no clue so far about his life and music found themselves learning so much about the pop singer thanks to the spate of stories in the media. His unprecedented rise, lavish lifestyle, endless controversies, ill health and forthcoming London concerts, are all now part of folklore. Hyderabadis too joined the world in mourning for the end of an era in pop music.
