HYDERABAD: Sridhar Naidu, 34, the Congress’ Langerhouz division leader, was murdered on Thursday night by a youngster with whose father he had an argument over a petty matter earlier in the day. A resident of Bapughat, Naidu, along with his friend, Suresh, started for his house on a motorbike around 11 p.m. They were passing Laxminagar when the accused, Pradeep, who was sitting before his house with a friend, intercepted the bike. “Without any provocation, Pradeep lunged at Naidu wielding a stick and hit him on his head,” Suresh, who managed to escape, told the police later. The Congress leader collapsed on the ground. He was shifted to a private hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. ArgumentThe Langerhouz Inspector, G. Sridhar, said that Naidu had an argument with Pradeep’s father, Ramesh, in the morning in the local park on a petty matter. Pradeep, his brothers and their friends allegedly threatened to kill the Congress leader accusing him of unnecessarily quarrelling with Ramesh. ComplaintNaidu even lodged a complaint with the police who registered a case against Pradeep and others. The two parties, however, later maintained that they had buried the hatchet following the intervention of local elders.
