LALGARH (PASCHIM MEDINIPUR DISTRICT): A high-level meeting attended by the Director Generals of both the West Bengal State police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) among other senior police and administrative officials, was held at the Lalgarh police station on Friday to discuss the future course of the joint operation launched against the Maoists in the region. Sixteenth day into the operation, it was a “review meeting” to discuss the mode of operation taken place so far and to decide the “specific operational details” for the future, the district’s superintendent of police, Manoj Kumar Verma, told The Hindu. Providing security cover for the implementation of the development projects taken up by the district administration was discussed in the meeting. “The issue of how to thrust the development dimension by providing security cover was discussed…We have to reach out to people and decisions have to taken fast and implemented faster,” Praveen Kumar, DIG (Medinipur Range), said.
