“After the mandatory period of six hours, the second declaration was made around 11.30 p.m. and the family was informed,” the hospital authorities said.

After counselling from Mohan Foundation, Radhakrishna’s family consented to harvesting of the organs and medical teams harvested liver, kidney, heart valves and eyes. While the kidneys were transplanted to patients at Global Hospital and Mediciti Hospital, liver transplantation was taken up for patients at Global Hospital, heart valves were harvested for transplantation by Innova Hospital and the eyes by L.V.
