Family of four commits suicide

Karwar: Four members of a family committed suicide at Mathadahiltu village in Bhatkal.
According to the police, although the incident came to light on Friday, it is suspected that the family members might have committed suicide on Thursday night.
The police identified the victims as Irayya Nagappa Moger (55) and his daughters Lakshmi (25), Jaya (23) and Jyoti (21).
Irayya was doing fishing business. His eldest daughter Lakshmi was a daily wage worker and Jaya was a tailor. Jyothi was working as a housemaid in Bangalore. Their mother died about 10 years ago.The police said poverty could have driven them to take the extreme step.
