MUMBAI: Anand Pawar got past Guru Sai Dutt 21-12, 21-14 while Chetan Anand dismissed P. Kashyap 21-11, 21-12 in the men’s semifinals of the 2nd Tata Open All India badminton tournament on Saturday. Neha Pandit defeated top seed Aditi Mutatkar in the quarterfinals and later brushed aside Gayatri Vartak for a place in the final against Sayali Gokhale, the No. 2 seed who edged out unseeded Trupti Murgunde in the other semifinal. Top-seeded Chetan sounded confident of responding to the challenge from the fourth-seeded Pawar.“I need to keep him under pressure constantly,” said the Petroleum shuttler Pawar, who beat Sagar Chopda in the quarterfinal on Saturday before his semifinal, said: “I felt the flow in my game during the quarterfinals, again in the semifinals.” On the final, he said: “Twice in the past, I (have seen) match-points against Chetan and then lost from 20-19.
