Proposal for permanent Bench today

Staff Correspondent

Hubli: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa said here on Sunday that the Government would send a proposal to the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court on converting the Circuit Bench of the court in Dharwad into a permanent Bench.

Speaking to presspersons before leaving for Gulbarga, he said he would speak to the Chief Justice in this regard and a proposal would be made to him on Monday.

Mr. Yeddyurappa said the issue would also be taken up with the Supreme Court.

Financial position

The Chief Minister admitted that the financial position of the State was “tight”.

“Recession has affected all. Property registrations have stopped, and there are not many new investments,” he said.
