1,500 students attend job fair
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI: Around 1,500 students who have passed out of various city colleges over the past three years participated in a job fair held at Queen Mary’s College on Saturday.
Students came in looking for good jobs, good employers and a proper work environment.
Classmates Dhanalakshmi and M.Gomathi, who have completed their BSc Nutrition and Dietetics, said they came looking for “good voice-related jobs.”
“We have applied to a couple of places and we thought we could come here,” said Ms. Dhanalakshmi.
Though they said they had to improve on their typing skills, they did not lose heart and said they would try to better themselves. Organised by Techruit, a Chennai-based placement services company, the fair has representatives from companies including Perot Systems, Azimuth, Reliance BPO, Sutherland BPO, Country Club and Serco.
