Coaching for civil services exams

PERIAS to issue applications from today

SALEM: The Periyar Institute of Administrative Studies (PERIAS), an institute established by Periyar University, has invited applications for admissions to the coaching programme designed for those aspiring to appear for the civil services preliminary examination scheduled to be held in May 2010.

Experts

Experts in different fields will conduct classes. Students who are pursuing higher education in the university or its affiliated colleges can also apply for the coaching programme.

The classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Candidates will be selected for the coaching programme on the basis of their performance in a written test.

The test will be conducted on every Sunday at 4.p.m. An interview will also be conducted as a part of the selection process.

The institute will collect Rs. 7,000 as course fee at the time of admission.

The application forms can be obtained from the university in person or by post by paying Rs. 100 through a demand draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, Periyar University.

The application forms can also be downloaded from www.periyaruniversity.ac.in. Those who download the application from the website should pay the application cost at the time of submission of the forms.

The issue of application forms will begin on July 7. The last date for submission of the filled-in forms is August 7.

The institute has also planned to conduct coaching programmes for examinations conducted by different agencies including Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and Staff Selection Commission in the near future. It has also planned to offer career oriented training programmes for the youth and job fairs.
