TDP stages dharna

KADAPA: Telugu Desam functionaries staged dharna at Puttaparthi centre in Proddatur on Monday deploring the increase in prices of petrol and diesel and demanding withdrawal of cases against TDP legislator T.V. Rama Rao.

Telugu Mahila district president M. Lakshmiprasanna, party leader Khaja Mohiuddin, CPI leader Satyanarayanachari, CPI(M) leader Anvesh and others alleged that rise in petrol and diesel prices and skyrocketing prices of vegetables affected the common man and middle classes.

The Congress government had failed to curb price rise, they alleged.

Accusing the government of foisting a case against TDP MLA of Kovvur T.V. Rama Rao, they alleged that girl students of Kerala studying in the MLA’s nursing college were made to depose before Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, a fortnight after the alleged incident.

TDP leaders G. Narayanaswamy, K. Subba Reddy, Subbi Reddy, Siddhaiah, Shabbir Basha, Jamal Basha and Chandra Reddy participated.
