dated July 7, 1959: Flood havoc in Kashmir

Incessant rains that lashed Kashmir Valley for the last four days and nights are posing a flood threat to the entire valley, including Srinagar city. The swirling flood waters of Jhelum River touched 30.25 feet on July 5 over six points about the danger level. Since noon to-day contact with Sangam has been lost. West of Srinagar, in Baramulla district, the flood waters of Jehlum were touching the top of the river bund. The entire valley of Sindh on the right bank of the Jhelum
