No probe into violation of air space by plane

NEW DELHI: An aircraft being used by the U.S. military and flying from Pakistan intruded into Indian air space on June 19, the government said in the Rajya Sabha.
“On June 19, an AN-124 aircraft belonging to Volga Dnepr Airlines of Russia, hired by the U.S. Air Force, violated Indian airspace and was asked to land at the Mumbai international airport,” Defence Minister A. K. Antony told Shobhana Bhartia (nominated) and N. K. Singh (Janata Dal-United) in a written reply.
No decision has been taken to conduct a probe, added Mr. Antony, while conceding that “any violation of our airspace is a security threat.”
“Comprehensive standard operating procedures are in place to counter such airspace violations,” he assured the members.
