SHG pensions: database by July 15

HYDERABAD: Government is confident of completing the task of compiling the data base of all the self-help group members in the State by July 15 so as to collect the necessary contribution for the ‘Abhayahastham’ co-contributory pension scheme.

Enrolment of eligible SHG women is already in progress across the State by the village enrolment teams constituted by the village organisations to cover 15 groups. Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has asked the Rural Development Minister, Vatti Vasant Kumar, to accord top priority to the programme and take it up in mission mode so that one crore individual pension policies could be handed over to the beneficiaries on November 1.

The verification process would be completed by September 10 and collection of contribution will commence from October 10.

Each member will be assured of minimum of pension of Rs. 500 a month and maximum of Rs. 2,200 per month on attaining the age of 60 years.
