BANGALORE: A meeting of the Janata Dal (S) Legislature Party held here on Thursday decided to coordinate with the Congress to take on the ruling BJP over illegal mining and the precarious financial state of the State Government during the 12-day legislature session, which has commenced. The meeting, held under the leadership of H.D. Revanna before the start of the budget session, discussed the alleged encroachment of forest land for mining in Bellary and the poor financial management by the BJP Government, said Janata Dal (S) spokesman Y.S.V. Datta. The meeting was attended by all the party MLAs and MLCs, he added. Speaking to presspersons before the start of the session, Mr. Revanna expressed dissatisfaction over its “short” duration. ‘It’s not enough’“The legislature session should be convened for 60 days in a year. They have convened the session for only 12 days. It is not enough. They should extend it,” he said.
