THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A one-day training programmed for those identified as ‘master trainers’ for the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival (GKSF) will be inaugurated by Industries Minister Elamaram Karim here on Friday. The master trainers will help create awareness about the GKSF at the panchayat, taluk and district levels. Industries Principal Secretary and GKSF general convener T. Balakrishnan, Tourism Secretary and joint convener V. Venu, Industries Director T.O. Sooraj and GKSF Director K.N. Satheesh and management experts will handle sessions. In the first phase, three persons each from the District Industries Centres (DIC), including managers, from all the 14 districts will take part. These ‘master trainers’ will then train DIC block and taluk representatives. The block-level training will be over by the end of July. These trained representatives will impart training and create awareness among the traders in the State who would register for the GKSF. The festival is expected to give a boost to trade, a release issued here on Thursday said.
