CEO closes unrecognised school
Staff Reporter
PUDUKOTTAI: The Education Department has ordered the closure of a private high school started near Aranthangi without recognition during the current academic year.
A team of officials conducted a surprise inspection at the school on Thursday. The school comprised two wings – a nursery section from LKG to Standard V and a high school section with State Board syllabi from Standard VI to IX.
The management of the school had not obtained the required certificates, including the building stability certificate, sanitation infrastructure certificate, safety certificate from the Fire and Rescue Services Department and recognition certificate. A few hundred students have been admitted to the school during the current academic year.
Chief Educational Officer S. Chellam issued a notice stating that the school management has not obtained due recognition for the school. Education Department officials pasted the notice on the school campus.
Ms. Chellam said that the management had admitted about 500 students without obtaining recognition.
