Fruits seized

ARANTHANGI: The Municipal officials seized two tonnes of fruits worth about Rs. 30,000 found ripened using calcium carbide at a private shop at Agni Bazar area in the town on Thursday. The seizure followed a tip-off from the public. The fruits, including mango and ‘sapota’, were later destroyed.
