Terror probe case: court begins trial

THALASSERY: Additional Sessions Court here began trial proceedings in a case relating to the investigation into the operations of terror modules in the State.

Judge K. Babu posted the hearing in the case for July 24. The special team of the police had already filed a charge-sheet in the court.

The charge-sheet names 23 accused in the case, including four youths from the State killed by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir. Six of them are still absconding.

The police produced seven of the accused in the court on Friday. They are: Muhammad Nainar Ali, V. Firoz, K.M. Muhammad Nawas, P.V. Sabir Sukhari, P.V. Anas, P. Shaneej and C.P. Abdul Hameed.

Six other accused in the case are in Bangalore jail after their arrest in connection with the investigation into the Bangalore serial blasts. They are K.P. Abdul Jaleel, P. Mujeeb, Badaruddin, T. Abdul Jabbar, Sainuddin and Sarfraz Nawas.
