Orders reserved in colour TV sets case

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court on Friday reserved orders on the appeals filed in the “colour television sets” case.

Justice M.Jeyapaul reserved orders after hearing arguments by counsel for those convicted in the case.

A Special Court had acquitted the former Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, and two others, including her close associate, Sasikala. It convicted and sentenced seven others in the case. Another former Minister, V.R.Nedunchezhiyan, died in the meanwhile.

While those convicted preferred an appeal, the State also filed an appeal challenging the lower court’s decision acquitting Ms. Jayalalithaa.
