Palliative care experts for workshop in Ethiopia

Thiruvananthapuram: A three-member team of palliative care specialists from India has been invited by the University of California San Diego Ethiopia (UCSD-E) to conduct a workshop on ‘Essentials of Palliative Care’ and initiate Palliative Care Services in Ethiopia.

This is part of a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Health Services in Ethiopia and the WHO Demonstration Project at the Institute of Palliative Medicine, Kozhikode. The workshop will be held at Addis Ababa from July 20 to 25.

The team consists of Institute of Palliative Medicine Director Suresh Kumar, Indian Association of Palliative Care Secretary Anil Paleri and Head of the Department of Palliative Care, Regional Cancer Centre, Cherian Koshy. — Staff Reporter
