Helpline for farmers

Bangalore: Farmers of the State can now call 1800-425-3553 (toll-free number) to get instant guidance on various issues and problems from experts in the Agriculture Department. The services on this helpline will be available between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily on all days of the year irrespective of holidays. Calls to this number can be made from a landline or a mobile phone. Launching the helpline set up by the department in Bangalore, Minister for Agriculture S.A. Ravindranath said that experts at the helpline would give appropriate information to farmers’ queries in many cases depending upon the nature of the inquiries. However, for the queries which could not be given immediate answers, experts would call back farmers. — Staff Reporter
