Janata Dal (Secular) leaders discuss floor strategy

Party to expose the “failures” of Karnataka government

Party will focus on the alarming law and order in State

Kumaraswamy blames “vested interests” for Mysore violence

Bangalore: The Janata Dal (Secular) has decided to expose “the failures” of Karnataka’s Bharatiya Janata Party government, including scams, in both Houses of the State legislature during the ongoing session.

The JD(S) Legislature Party met here on Saturday and discussed strategies to be adopted in both Houses to show the government in poor light by focusing on alarming law and order situation.

Addressing presspersons after the meeting, which was attended by former Prime Minister and party president H.D. Deve Gowda, Janata Dal (S) Legislature Party leader H.D. Revanna and party MLAs and MLCs, former Chief Minister and MP H.D. Kumaraswamy told presspersons that the government had failed on all fronts and there was no protection for the people, particularly the minorities.

Without compromising on any issues with the Chief Minister, the party would raise several issues during the session and inform the people of “the misdeeds” committed by the government during the last one year. The law and order had deteriorated after the BJP came to power, he said.

After the church and pub attacks in Mangalore, the Sangh Parivar forces spread their hate campaign in other parts of the State. The recent communal violence in Mysore, which claimed three lives, was the handiwork of “vested interests.”

Explanation sought

The government should explain whether the communal clash occurred on account of differences between two BJP groups in Mysore or on account of some other reasons, Mr. Kumaraswamy said.
