CEE releases trial allotment list

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE) has published the first trial allotment of seats for the professional degree courses for 2009.

The details are available on the web site of the commission www.cee.kerala.gov.in., a commission release said on Sunday. The trial allotment has been made on the basis of the options given by the candidates till 5 p.m. on July 11.

The B.Tech. bio-technology course at the College of Engineering at Trikkarippur in Kasaragod district and the B.Tech. Electrical and Electronics course at the Government Engineering College in Wayanad have not been included in the trial allotment since the relevant approvals are not in place.

Self-financing Ayurveda colleges too are yet to get the approval of the Central Council of Indian Medicine and the Union government. The KMCT Engineering College for Women in Kozhikode has not received the university’s approval. So the options given for seats in these institutions too have not been considered while preparing the trial allotment list.

Similarly, the Dental Council of India has not given its approval to five dental colleges in the State—KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode; Noorul Islam Dental College, Thiruvananthapuram; Pariyaram Dental College, Pariyaram; PSM College of Dental Science and Research, Thrissur and St. Gegorios Dental College, Ernakulam. These institutions too are, therefore, out of the trial allotment list.

The commissioner urged the candidates, who did not want to win seats in private self-financing engineering colleges, to be careful while indicating their options during the second stage of the seat allotment process. Candidates who receive seats in private self-financing colleges under the second allotment will not be considered for change to any other of the streams they had indicated as their higher options.

The second stage allotments will be the final ones in the case of private self-financing engineering colleges. In such cases, candidates will have the opportunity till August 14 to cancel the allotments they have received. They will get back the money they had deposited in bank towards fees.

The trial allotment now in the commission’s web site is meant to give the candidates a broad idea of where they have chances of getting admission. After perusing the trial list, they can make changes in their options till 1 p.m. on July 14. The first stage allotment list would be published by the commission on July 17, the release said.
