Medical students’ fast unto death from today

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Medicos have announced that they would undertake a fast unto death from Monday to continue to press for their demands.

In a press release, issued by the Tamil Nadu non-service medical and dental PGs and CRRIs Association, the medicos said that they had cancelled the plan for a relay fast since the authorities had not yet called them for unconditional talks.

The medicos have been on an indefinite strike since July 1, demanding hikes in stipends on a par with those drawn in other States.
