Bangalore: The case of death of six-year-old boy Satish, whose body was found in an eucalyptus grove near Doddakannahalli on Hosur Road on Friday, was solved by the police following the arrest of the accused who is said to have confessed to his crime on Sunday. The accused Nagesh, a neighbour of the victim, “confessed” to his crime before an official of a Christian institution at Doddakannahalli, according to the police. Later, the HSR Layout police arrested the accused. According to the victim’s mother, Amala, a garment employee, her son went missing on Wednesday. She filed a “missing person” case with the police on Thursday. The body was found on Friday. The boy was an LKG student of a private school in Doddakannahalli. While playing, he entered the house of Nagesh on Wednesday and took a mobile phone that was kept on a table. Nagesh, who then woke up, saw the boy with the mobile phone in his hand and slapped him. When Satish collapsed, Nagesh wrapped the body in a towel and disposed it of in the eucalyptus grove the same evening, HSR Layout police said. Nagesh again went to the eucalyptus grove and smashed the boy’s face with a boulder. He, however, felt “bad about himself” following the incident and later returned home. The police visited the spot and questioned a few persons. The accused, who had witnessed the mahazar, fell ill and then “confessed” to his crime, the police said. Investigation is on.
