On Monday, 65 small and midsized companies based in Bangalore, in the IT and ITeS sectors, completed a software asset management leadership programme. The BSA certificate was handed over to them by Karnataka Government’s Centre for e-governance. Principal Secretary, Department of e-Governance, M.N. Vidyashankar said, “We supported the programme aimed at promoting Karnataka’s IT/ITeS sector enable strong corporate governance by adopting mature software asset management practices. The industry also becomes globally competitive by following international governance standards.” This programme is to establish a ‘model state’ that promotes organisation productivity and network security through model Software Asset Management practices and also promote Intellectual Property Rights protection to fight software piracy.
