VISAKHAPATNAM: Horlicks Wizkids-2009, acclaimed as India’s largest inter-school literary and cultural fiesta, is back again in its sixth edition.

The city finals are scheduled to be held at Kalavani Port Auditorium on July 25.

Some 3,000 students from 35 schools in the city have registered themselves to take part in the contest of whom two finalists will be selected for the national finals.

More than two lakh students from over 1,350 schools across 21 Indian cities and three countries will participate in Horlicks Wizkids-2009.

With over 30 enjoyable and action-packed literary, art, talent and cultural events for students, the contest promises to be bigger and better in its sixth year.

This year, the festival, through all its activities, will encourage children to dream big in order to make their world better, a release said.

Spreading wing

Last year, Horlicks Wizkids spread its reach to other Asian countries giving an opportunity to the participants to increase their learning and providing larger exposure.

Taking this initiative forward, this year too the winners from city finals would be competing with finalists from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal during South Asia finals.

Horlicks Wizkids-2009 is an opportunity for students to participate, perform, witness, cheer and educate themselves.

Team spirit

It provides a platform to showcase their talent beyond academics and encourages team spirit through more than 30 varieties of competitions on diverse subjects such as music, literature, dance, singing, writing, speaking, creativity, talent, art and designing.
