Applications invited for Manipal Arogya Card 2009 It costs Rs. 100 for an individual, Rs. 450 for family Manipal: The Manipal Arogya Card 2009 enables members to avail themselves of several benefits such as discounts on inpatient and outpatient treatment in various networked hospitals under Manipal Health Systems, by paying a small membership fee. In a press release issued here on Friday, medical superintendent of Kasturba Hospital T.S. Raghu Raman said free consultations with any specialist/super-specialist doctor any number of times during the year was the most attractive among the outpatient benefits of the card. Among the inpatient benefits, free bed charges in the general ward with no nursing charges and no attendant charges for any number of times during the year are some of the attractions. A 20 per cent discount on diagnostic and laboratory investigations give considerable relief to patients. Cardholders will also get a 10 per cent rebate on medicines purchased from the hospital pharmacy, with proper prescriptions. The Manipal Arogya Card also allows members the luxury of discounts on treatment of pre-existing diseases as well. The card is priced at just Rs. 200 for an individual and Rs. 450 for a family card. The family includes the cardholder, spouse and children below 21 years of age (any number of children). An add-on card is also available for parents of primary cardholders under the family card scheme, for Rs. 100 a parent. The benefits of the Manipal Arogya Card can be availed of at various hospitals under Manipal Health Systems. These include the Kasturba Hospital in Manipal; KMC Hospital, Attavar; KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle; College of Dental Sciences in Mangalore; Dr. T.M.A Pai Hospital in Udupi and the Dr. T.M.A Pai Rotary Hospital in Karkala. The Manipal Uma Hospital at Kasaragod in Kerala will offer special rates on various health services.
