TNEB, KSEB advance

TIRUCHI: Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Kerala State Electricity Board and title holder Punjab State Electricity Board sailed into the semifinals of the ongoing all-India Electricity Board Basketball tournament here on Friday. TNEB stormed into the last four by topping the league in pool B.

In the final league encounter in Pool A, Kerala posted a 70-56 win over Punjab, to top the pool and make the last four grade. Punjab fished second in the pool and sailed into the semifinals.

Big win

Centuries by S. Ramkumar (105 not out) and D. Rajesh Kumar (101) enabled Vignesh Sports Club to score a 114-run win over Majestic CC in the Dindigul District Cricket Association I division league match here recently.

The scores: Vignesh Sports Club 305 for two in 43 overs (M. Vinoth 48, S. Ramkumar 105 not out, D. Rajesh Kumar 101) bt Majestic Cricket Club 191 in 30 overs (Suresh 29, M. Senthil Pandi 57, M. Vinodh three for 23).
