Heavy inflows into Almatti will aid A.P.

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The inflows into the Almatti dam crossed one lakh cusecs on Friday and that of Tungabhadra 84,592 cusecs following rain in the upper reaches of the Krishna.

This implies a benefit to Andhra Pradesh in the coming days because the projects in the State across the Krishna such as Jurala, Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar get inflows only after those in Karnataka overflow.

The storage in Almatti has gone up to 62 tmcft (against full capacity of 129 tmcft) and that of Tungabhadra to 49 tmcft (104 tmcft).

At the same time, Sriramsagar Project across the Godavari began receiving small inflows of 2,741 cusecs from upstream of the river.
