VIJAYAWADA: To take care of the needs of girl students and women employees and provide them a platform to discuss their problems among themselves, the Andhra Loyola College on Friday launched ‘Women’s Cell’ on the college premises. Inaugurating the cell, Mayor M.V. Ratna Bindu said that a change in the attitude of public was the need of the hour to curb atrocities on women and girls. She felt that the Government alone would not be able to control all the atrocities against women. Only a change in the attitude of individuals would bring down the crime rate. “I am not faulting men alone. Women too are contributing to the situation. The element of jealousy is encouraging women to settle scores with other family members, particularly with female members of the family. Unless there is a change in this attitude, it will not be possible to bring a change in the present situation,” she observed.
