Air quality level

CHENNAI: The level of total suspended particulate matter in the ambient air at a traffic junction in Vallalar Nagar during the 24-hour period ending 6 a.m. on Friday was 302 micrograms/cubic metre as against the permissible limit of 200 micrograms/cubic metre. The level of respirable suspended particulate matter at the same location was 120 microgram/cubic metre as against the permissible limit of 100 microgram/cubic metre.
