Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) on Friday inspected the City Corporation’s garage on the basis of a ‘secret inquiry report’ that certain staff members there were manipulating records to steal fuel.
Official sources said they had manipulated records to claim considerable sums from the City Corporation by showing on paper that the civic body’s vehicles were repaired in private garages. They said the investigators led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanal Kumar were sifting through the evidence and more details of the suspected fraud will come to light soon.
