Nine TDP MLAs demand apology from IT Minister Nagam, Manda Jagannath cross swords MAHABUBNAGAR: Fracas marked the district review committee (DRC) meeting here on Saturday following angry exchange of words by legislators belonging to the Telugu Desam and three Ministers who were on the dias. Both resorted to un-Parliamantary usage of language and objectionable personal comments. It all began when TDP legislator of Wanaparthy P Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy referred to a newspaper tabloid report which quoted IT Minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy referrring to TDP legislators as ‘paper tigers’ at a press conference here. The TDP legislator questioned the propriety of Mr.Venkatareddy in referring to MLAs in such a derogatory terms, to which he replied, “yes, you are really paper tigers”. Enraged by this, all the nine Telugu Desam legislators stood up demanding an apology from the Minister. who simply refused to do so. There were heated exchanges between Kodangal legislator A. Revanth Reddy and Minister for Small Scale Industries D. K. Aruna and at one stage Mr. Revanth Reddy rushed to the dais with a volley of angry words. Similar exchanges took place between Nagam Janardhan Reddy of TDP, the IT Minister and Civil Supplies Minister J. Krishna Rao. Mr. Nagam and Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannath crossed swords over the issue of ‘slapping’ a bank manager recently. Review of worksSeveral members highlighted the lapses in NREGS works. Te TDP members alleged that over Rs. 300 crore was swindled by employees of the scheme and Congress leaders at review of works .
