Coimbatore: A two-day high level instructional course for physiotherapists commenced at the Ganga Hospital here on Saturday. According to a release from Dr. S. Rajasekaran, director of the hospital, physiotherapy and rehabilitation sciences are now very well developed and form an integral part of any treatment strategy. Complex surgeries like accident surgeries, spine surgeries and hand surgeries depend on efficient and scientific physiotherapy for achieving excellent results. It is very important for the physiotherapists to understand the exact nature of the problem and the surgery that has been performed so that they will apply the appropriate rehabilitation procedure. This conference is aimed at inculcating the physiotherapists with the requisite clinical knowledge so that they could apply the correct physiotherapy schedules which will be of great benefit to the patient. The conference, attended by over 400 physiotherapists from various parts of Tamil Nadu and the neighbouring States, was inaugurated by Dr. J. Shanmughanathan, chairman of the Ganga Hospital, the release says.
