PALAKKAD: The State will produce three lakh tonnes of fish under the ‘Malsyakeralam’ scheme aimed at developing the inland fisheries sector. Inaugurating the scheme at Uppumpadam in Kannadi near here on Sunday, Minister for Fisheries S. Sarma said the scheme would increase fish production in the State to three lakh tonnes from 75,000 tonnes. The meeting was presided over by K.K. Divakaran, MLA. M.B. Rajesh, MP, was the chief guest. — Staff Reporter
