Vamsi Krishna will soon join big league:Pydi Babu

Vamsi Krishna

VISAKHAPATNAM: City lad Vamsi Krishna’s debut film as solo hero “Ooha Chitram” is doing well and the response from audience has been good, according to producer K. Pydi Babu. It’s a suspense thriller aimed at youth with a software-related theme.

Addressing a press conference along with Vamsi Krishna and E. Peda Veerraju, who presented the film, here on Sunday he said the hero acted well and would join the big league soon. He said he would later produce a big film with the hero.

Though he had produced several films, including Ammayi Bagundi, Sandade Sandadi and Srivari Chindulu, ‘Ooha Chitram’ gave him a lot of satisfaction.

In spite of working for quite sometime in the direction department, he turned producer and always thought that direction was a demanding task. He would take up direction at a later stage, he said answering a question. But for Dr. Peda Veerraju’s co-operation he would not have been able to produce the film.

Vamsi Krishna said though audience thought it was a small film after viewing the film they changed their opinion.

His father Dr. Peda Veerraju had encouraged him recognizing that he had the potential to become a hero and the producer was quite confident and gave him a good opportunity. Stating that he was overwhelmed, he exuded confidence that he would come up to the mark and prove himself as a good actor. His next ventures include two big films.

‘Accidental entry’

Dr. Peda Veerraju, a noted gastroenterologist, said Vamsi Krishna’s entry into filmdom was quite accidental. Director Gautam Menon saw him at the Hyderabad airport and cast him in a role in the Venkatesh-starrer ‘Gharshana.’ Noted director Dasari Narayana Rao cast him as one of the heroes in ‘Oka Vichitram.’ Dr. Peda Veerraju said seeing Vamsi Krishna’s hard work and keen interest, he had encouraged him. The producer cast him in “Ooha Chitram” with a novel theme and introduced a new director. The feedback was that the second half was riveting. Dr. Peda Veerraju said a lot of effort had gone into making the earlier part equally interesting.

V. Veerraju of Poorvi Film Distributors, said audience were receiving the film well.
