Move beyond cultural stereotypes: Hillary
New Delhi: United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Monday that India and the U.S. should move beyond the stereotypical cultural projections like those seen in Bollywood and Hollywood movies.
Interacting with Delhi University students here, she said that while people abroad watching Bollywood movies thought melodrama and happy endings were a reflection of life here, those watching American sitcoms thought “we don’t wear clothes.”
Ms. Clinton sought increased cultural exchanges between both countries.
