Apollo Hospitals Q1 net profit up 53 %

CHENNAI: Apollo Hospitals Enterprise has registered an increase of 53 per cent in net profit at Rs. 44.80 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 against Rs. 29.27 crore in the same period in 2008-09. Total income has risen to Rs. 405.95 crore from Rs. 329.07 crore. Through the first quarter, Apollo commissioned 240 beds to take the total number of beds collectively under the ownership of AHEL and its associates, joint ventures to 4,436. The total number of operational pharmacies as on June 30, 2009 stood at 917 against 873 as on March 31, 2009. — Corporate Reporter
