VIJAYAWADA: To dispel the superstitions associated with solar eclipse, Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) and APCOST Regional Science Centre are jointly organising a programme to enable people to watch the solar eclipse from Prakasam Barrage on Wednesday. The experts would explain about solar eclipse at the programme which would be organised from 6 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. “As human eyes are not used to the eclipsed light, if we view the sun with the naked eye it cannot adjust to the sunlight immediately. So protection is a must,” JVV State secretary Velaga Srinivas said, adding that the JVV would provide filters and booklets. For further details , one may call Mr. Srinivas on 94900-99986 or V. Murali Mohan on 94900-99987. Atheist Centre located near Benz Circle here is also organising a programme separately from 6 a.m. to 9.30 a.m.
