806 free colour TVs distributed

TIRUCHI: Forest Minister N. Selvaraj on Monday distributed Government’s free colour television sets to 806 families of Koppu panchayat in Andanallur panchayat union in Tiruchi district at a function held at Koppu panchayat on Monday.

Addressing the function, the Minister explained in detail the various welfare and development schemes being implemented by the DMK Government for the benefit of the poor sections of the society. T. Soundiah, Collector, who presided over the function, said that free colour television sets had so far been provided to 2.45 families in the last three years in Tiruchi district and pointed out that 1.55 lakh free colour television sets were being distributed this year in the district.
