COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore Cancer Foundation (CCF) will conduct on October 11 a carnival for the sale of old goods to raise funds for treating poor cancer patients. It will be held at the Mani High School, opposite G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital at Pappanaickenpalayam. A press release from the foundation said on Monday that it would collect as donation from the public old/new and used/unused household articles, books, compact discs, furniture, electrical appliances and toys. The foundation mobilised Rs.5.5 lakh last year to fund the treatment for the poor patients. Apart from a charity fund created by the founder of the CCF, K. Srinivasan, contributions from donors helped in meeting the running expenses. In addition to these, the annual sale helped in raising funds for the poor patients. The foundation appealed to the public not to donate shoes, old clothes and also audio and video cassettes. For details, contact Rajesh on phone number 98940-92314.
