SALEM: The State Transport Authority, Tamil Nadu, has decided to issue 570 fresh recommendation letters for obtaining counter signatures of permits to ply in Karnataka State on payment of tax on bilateral basis in respect of Tamil Nadu-based goods carriages. Non- renewalAccording to a press release, the Karnataka State Transport Authority has sent the list of vacancies in the quota arising due to non-renewal or and surrender of counter signature of Tamil Nadu-based goods carriage permits. Those interested in obtaining counter-signature of permits may apply to the Secretary, State Transport Authority, Ezhilagam, Chepauk, Chennai – 5 in the prescribed form and manner together with the prescribed fee. ApplicationsThe vacancies would be strictly allotted on the basis of first-come-first-served basis. Applications would be accepted subject to the availability of vacancies only, the release said. Application forms and related details could be obtained from the office of the State Transport Authority/Transport Commissioner, Chennai, or downloaded from the website www.tn.gov.in/sta, the release added.
