PALAKKAD: The reservation period for the Tatkal scheme of the Railway will be reduced from five days to two days (excluding the date of journey) with effect from August 1. The reservation period of five days will continue till July 26, beyond which it will be gradually reduced. The Palakkad Railway Division, in a press release here on Wednesday, also said that unreserved tickets issued through Unreserved Ticketing System involving journey up to 200 km would be issued on the same day.
