Embedded systems conference begins

Out of 200 semiconductor companies in India, 80 are in Bangalore

LATEST GIZMO: A delegate looks at India’s first Car PC at the inauguration of Embedded Systems Conference in Bangalore on Wednesday.

BANGALORE: An indigenous ‘car-puter’ or a car that fulfils your computing needs, lectures by hardware and embedded system experts and a whole lot of embedded technologies on display; the third edition of the Embedded Systems Conference is where the hardware enthusiasts will want to be over the next three days.

This technical event was inaugurated here on Wednesday by Ashok Kumar Manoli, State principal secretary (Information Technology and Biotechnology), at the NIMHANS Convention Centre.

Several dignitaries from the field are expected to talk on a wide variety of technology topics.

Manion, Editorial Director, TechOnline , Sajid Desai, Director, UBM India and Poornima Shenoy, President, India Semiconductors Association, were present at the event.

“ESC India 2009 has renewed the interest in the semiconductor industry and now the role of Karnataka Government is to work together in perfect tandem with the industry,” Mr. Manoli said.

Further, he pointed out that out of 200 semiconductor companies in India, 80 are located in Bangalore making it the undisputable hub of technology.

Speaking at the conference, Sajid Desai, Director, UBM India, said: “This leading embedded technical conference offers engineers access to classes of in-depth and unbiased content that delivers real-world solutions by leading industry experts. Attendees will meet and learn from renowned experts and veterans in the embedded system universe.”

Vector Informatik, a Germany-based company, announced its foray into the Indian market by opening an office in Pune, and will offer its full range of services and products including industry strength tools like CANalyzer, CANoe and CANape.
