Proceedings against Congress leaders stayed

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Justice DSR Varma of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday stayed all further proceedings in the case pertaining to Vijayawada courts, wherein summons were issued to Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and D. Srinivas and other leaders regarding the usage of tricolour as party flag. The Judge granted interim stay in a revision petition filed by local Congress leaders. They contended that this was a vexatious petition without any legal basis and persons who were not connected with the case were being put to hardship. After hearing Satyanarayana Prasad, senior counsel for the petitioners, the court granted stay.
