Superintendent of Police A.G. Babu

KRISHNAGIRI: The police have identified 44 areas in Bargur Assembly constituency as ‘trouble-prone’. Measures will be taken to post heavy reinforcements in these areas for fair and peaceful by-elections, said A.G. Babu, Superintendent of Police, here on Thursday.

A Quick Reaction Force had been formed in all police stations in the constituency to reach the troubled spots soon. Each team would be headed by an Inspector and Sub-Inspector.

An intelligence team had also been formed to gather information in the ‘trouble- prone’ areas and based on that, the police would draft an action plan to prevent law and order problems, Mr. Babu said.

Mr. Babu, who took charge as SP last Friday, told reporters that his priority would be to bring down loss of lives due to murder, suicide and accidents.

He said he would take steps to prevent smuggling of sand, PDS rice and rectified spirit.

Accidents

With regard to increasing accidents along the National Highways, he said a detailed survey would be undertaken about the accident prone areas on the NH and suggestions would be sent to the government.
