One killed in mishap at Games site

NEW DELHI: A labourer was killed and two injured when a concrete mixer overturned at the Nehru Stadium complex here on Thursday.

The mishap took place around 12:45 p.m. when work was in progress at the complex, which is one of the venues for the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

The injured were rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where Sunil was declared dead on arrival. The other two have been kept under observation. Construction at the stadium complex is going on under the Central Public Works Department. The police said the CPWD had sub-contracted the work.

The police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence and are investigating.
